For home owners
Building your own home? See every bag, bill and slab from your phone.
Most families build a house once. Buildiary keeps the record a good site engineer would keep: deliveries, the store, payments and progress, each with a photo, a name and a time. You can check your builder’s work from home, from the office or from abroad.
What goes wrong when you can’t be on site
- Cement, steel and tiles arrive short, or leave the site without a record.
- Bills don’t match what was delivered, and advances are hard to follow.
- Progress reports are a few WhatsApp photos with no date or place.
- The money runs out before the finishing starts.
How Buildiary helps
- Every delivery is received against your order, with a photo of the delivery note and the name of the person who checked it.
- Every bag that leaves the store goes to a named mistri for a named job.
- You approve petty cash and supplier payments, and the proof stays with each payment.
- Progress is recorded stage by stage, from design to handover, with dated photos.
- The budget is split into grey structure and finishing, so you see early when a phase is running over.
- Ask questions in plain words, such as ‘How much cement came this month?’, in English, Urdu or Arabic.
Buildiary, or a notebook, Excel and WhatsApp?
| Notebook, Excel, WhatsApp | Buildiary | |
|---|---|---|
| Deliveries | Written later, if at all | Recorded at the gate, with a photo of the delivery note |
| Store | Counted when someone remembers | Live stock; every release against a person |
| Payments | Spread across chats and receipts | Each payment with its proof, against the budget |
| Progress | Photos without a date or place | Stage by stage, with dated photos |
| Who sees what | Whoever has the file or the chat | Each person sees what their role needs |
| Language | Mixed | English, Urdu or Arabic, for each person |
Building back home while you work abroad?
Many families in the Gulf, the UK and North America build a house in Pakistan through a relative or a builder. Buildiary runs in the browser on any phone or computer, so you see the day’s deliveries, payments and photos wherever you are, and the person on site records them in Urdu.
- See the site the same day, not at the end of the month
- Approve petty cash and payments before money is spent
- Your relative, engineer and builder work in one shared record
Questions people ask
Do I need to understand construction to use Buildiary?
No. Buildiary follows a standard house-building schedule from design to handover, so you can see which stage the work is in and what comes next.
My builder doesn’t use apps. Can his team still use it?
Yes. Screens have big buttons and few words, in Urdu, Arabic or English. Workers can use a site card with a PIN. If a supervisor can send a WhatsApp photo, he can record a delivery.
Can I use Buildiary while living abroad?
Yes. It runs in the browser on any phone or computer, so you can follow the site and approve payments from anywhere.
How many houses can I manage?
The Owner plan covers up to two projects, for example your house and a parent’s. See the pricing page for the price in USD, PKR or SAR; the first 7 days are free.
